Fast - Discharge - Initiated KrF Laser
Intense laser emission has been observed from the KrF molecule formed by a chemical reaction initiated by fast-discharge circuitry. With a gas mixture of He:Kr:NF, = 500:50:1 and a sample pressure of 700 Torr, an output energy of 0. 8 mj was measured from a 25-nsec laser pulse (FWHM). Spectral analysis of the laser emission indicated laser action at 248.5 and 249.5 nm.
متن کاملImprovement of the atmospheric discharge laser-triggered ability using multiple pulses from a kilohertz KrF laser
The potential ability of lasers to control lightning can be improved by using a train of pulses with submillisecond separations. Laser-triggered experiments in a small-scale ͑10-mm gap͒ atmospheric discharge facility show that the triggering is dramatically enhanced when a five-pulse train of sub-Joule energy is used instead of a single pulse. This effect increases rapidly as the pulse interval i...
متن کاملHigh-Pressure Behaviour of an X-Ray Preionized Discharge Pumped XeC1 Laser
The output characteristics are described of an X-ray preionized discharge pumped XeC1 laser, fed by a low-impedance pulse forming line (PFL), at pressures up to 12 bar. The influence of a multichannel rail gap placed between the PFL and the laser head on the output energy was studied. We found an increase of output energy with increasing pressure up to 8 bar. At higher pressures a saturation be...
متن کاملHigh Pressure X-Ray Preionized TEMA-CO2 Laser
The construction of a high-pressure (up to 20 atm) transversely excited CO2 laser using transverse X-ray preionization is described. High pressure operation was found to be greatly improved in comparison to UV-preionized systems. Homogeneous discharges have been achieved in the pressure range 5-20 atm, yielding a specific laser output in the order of 35 J/1. PACS: 42.55E, 42.60B Generation and ...
متن کاملCharacterisation of dentin surfaces processed with KrF excimer laser radiation.
In the present work, the surface microtexture and chemical changes induced in human dentin by laser processing with KrF excimer laser radiation using fluences ranging from 0.5 to 20 J/cm2 were studied by SEM, XPS and FTIR. Two distinct behaviours were observed in the evolution of surface topography. In some samples, the laser-treated surface remained flat, independently of the fluence used. It ...
